Coop Bank Tanzania (CBT) is a new financial institution launched in late 2024, formed from the merger of Kilimanjaro Cooperative Bank and Tandahimba Community Bank, focused on financial inclusion for Tanzania’s cooperative sector, farmers, and underserved communities, with a mission to boost rural economies through tailored banking services like affordable loans and savings. It aims to be Tanzania’s first bank 51% owned by cooperative societies, officially launched in April 2025 with branches in key regions, offering personal, corporate, and digital banking.
