AboutElizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF)
The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing pediatric HIV infections and eliminating pediatric AIDS through research, advocacy, and comprehensive prevention and treatment programs. Founded in 1988, EGPAF operates in 12 countries, working collaboratively with governments and partners to provide HIV-related services, including counseling, testing, prevention of mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT) programs, and lifelong care and treatment for children and families.
The foundation was established by Elizabeth Glaser, an American AIDS activist and child advocate, who, along with her friends Susan DeLaurentis and Susie Zeegen, sought to raise awareness and funds for pediatric HIV/AIDS research following the tragic loss of her daughter Ariel to AIDS-related complications in 1988
