Pan African Postal Union (PAPU) is a specialized agency of the African Union, established in 1980 in Arusha, Tanzania, whose main purpose is to coordinate and promote development of postal services across Africa. Its vision is to create a unified African postal network that offers both physical and digital postal products and services of high quality, connecting Africans within the continent and globally.
PAPU’s functions include fostering cooperation among member countries, promoting postal sector reform, facilitating technical assistance, supporting research and innovation, pushing for common postal product development, and helping deliver postal services in remote and rural areas.
